Small Claims Training

FREE MCLE CREDIT

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Location: Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles

1102 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA

(Please enter the parking lot from Country Club Drive , just off of Crenshaw, north of the building)

* A light dinner will be served *

The Korean American Bar Association (KABA) and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles(LAFLA) are offering a free MCLE course on the small claims court process. Two hours of MCLE credit will be provided, however, you do not have to be an attorney to attend.

Many low-income Korean Americans need assistance filing small claims actions to recover unreturned security deposits, unpaid wages, unpaid loans to others, and other damages and reimbursements. This process can be daunting for those who are limited-English proficient and unaware of the legal process. This training will offer practical step-by-step guidance for attorneys and other advocates who are advising potential litigants through the small claims process.

Once trained, you can put your new skills to work at our monthly free community legal clinics, which are held on the second Tuesdays of each month, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, at the same location as the training (above).
